New TransTape Tone?!

Updated: 4 days ago

Hey friends! Believe it or not, TransTape is STILL getting better. TransTape has been offering 4 skin tones and other colors for some time now, but that's changing! Going forward, there will be 5 different skin tones to choose from as well as tone matching nipple guards AND tone matching inked tape. And it's not just about adding new products, either. It's about listening to the customers and consistently improving quality!

Good day, good pals!

Back again for some more?!

Of course you are, you love it here.

As if TransTape isn't everything that we've ever wanted and more, they've gone ahead and added some more accommodating choices.

In the past, TransTape has updated their skin tones so users are able to get a better match.

More on that long and exhausting process a little later.

But they've done it again by adding an additional tone!

Pre sale begins August 28th, 2024!

And that's not all.

They added an XL size tape too!

These may seem like minor announcements to some people, but these seemingly minor changes could transform someone's daily life or their relationship with themselves and their identity.

Among other things, as well.

But before we learn about how TransTape is boosting gender euphoria through the atmosphere, we must endure a recap.

I know, always with the recap.

But it's because I care and want to spread the good word!

And also because I want you to be able to recite my recaps by heart.

If you've used your fair share of TransTape, you may already know a lot of what I'm about to tell you.

So, even though I might cry, you can skip it if you'd like.

If you skip it, I'll know.

However, if you're a TransTape rookie, I suggest sticking around and reading through it.

Never know, there might be something you didn't know thrown in there.

You don't have to read it, but I think you should.

What's TransTape?!

And in case you didn't know, transformation is where the Trans in TransTape comes from!

More often than not, it's assumed that TransTape is only for people who identify as transgender. But that's just not the case at all!

TransTape is an all-inclusive, compression free, gender affirming product that can be used in place of things like binders, bras, compression clothing, gaffes and harnesses.

Users are free to live, laugh, love to their hearts desire.

You can wear TransTape for multiple days at a time, the average is usually about 3-5, and you're able to sleep, shower, sweat and swim as your authentic self!

The name of the game is gender euphoria for all and TransTape is out here taking names.

TransTape is made from a blend of 95% cotton and 5% spandex.

And this fantastic blend is accompanied by hypoallergenic, medical-grade, acrylic adhesive that is latex free and non-medicated.

TransTape strives to provide the best experience for all users by using quality materials, but this doesn't guarantee that it's the right product for you and your body.

Now, what do I mean by that?

What I mean is, everybody is different and our bodies react to materials, no matter how great the quality is, differently.

This is totally normal and completely okay, by the way! It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you OR your body!

I know that's not the answer we ever want to hear when we're in search of gender affirming products, but it happens. And that doesn't mean you should give up your search for the right product for YOU, either!

But the easiest way for you to see if TransTape is right for you is with a test strip.

We're all doing the test strip, right?

RIGHT?!

We're not all using it and I know that for a fact, so let's talk about it!

If you didn't know, the test strip is this not-so-mythical thing that all the best people take the time to do before applying TransTape for the first time.

And you're one of the best of the best, right? Yes, you sure are.

All you have to do is cut a piece of TransTape as small as 1" x 1" (2.5cm x 2.5cm) and apply it to a part of your body that you are able to easily monitor for 24 hours.

Arm, wrist, thigh, chest, wherever it will be visible for you!

You're monitoring for any redness, tenderness and overall discomfort.

Keeping the test strip small makes it easier to avoid overstretching and other common application accidents that could show similar signs to an adhesive reaction.

If you're looking for a better step by step breakdown, check out this other blog post I made a while back!

I think that just about wraps up our recap though, so let's move on to the juicy stuff.

New Tone?!

That's right!

This brand new skin tone will be in between 002 and 003 and will be the fifth natural skin tone that TransTape has to offer and listed as 2.5!

In my personal opinion, one of the coolest things about TransTape is how it can blend in with your skin and be almost, sometimes completely, unnoticeable.

Most people don't question it or notice it with just a quick glance!

A lot of people don't pay super close attention to strangers like we think they do, but that doesn't mean it isn't still a massive relief when it blends in.

That's why TransTape offers a variety of tones and colors.

Skin tones 001 to 004, black, white, pink, purple, blue, green AND inked.

My favorites are black and inked, in case you were wondering.

But before the customized tones 001 to 004 came around, there once was a time where there were non-customized tones.

I don't remember the exact names of those old tones, but who cares? They're in the past and we got bigger and better things now!

And did I just say customized?

Yes!

When it comes to skin tones, many companies only offer the default, pre-made tones and those are usually something along the lines of light, medium and dark.

There's nothing inherently wrong with those options and I'm not shaming anyone who prefers them or opts to use them, but they aren't usually the most accurate representations of the real skin tones of real people.

And, well, there are a lot of us real people running around this planet after all.

So TransTape went the extra mile and opted to create their own skin tones in order to offer their customers with the most accurate representation possible.

Gender and identity affirming angels are working for TransTape, didn't you know?

Creating a skin tone is no easy task, either.

You can't just walk down the street to the skin tone store and pick your favorites, blasphemy right?

Creating a skin tone requires trial runs, countless samples and most of all, patience.

This process can take up to a year, and even longer!

The new tone suppliers even traveled to meet with the team to ensure the tone was exactly what they were looking for!

I'm telling you, TransTape takes this seriously.

Sample after sample, color layering after color layering, the new tone was born and will be available to order for everyone.

Starting August 28th, 2024!

As well as inked tape with that same skin tone.

WHAT ELSE?!

Oh, you wanna know more?

I got you.

Inked tape used to come in just white and black and then it switched to one of the lighter skin tones with black.

That is no more.

The inked TransTape will now come in every single skin tone!

Including the newest one, of course.

And don't even get me started on the nipple guards, people.

The 10 packs of nipple guards that come with every roll of TransTape will still be included, but they will now match the skin tone of the roll you purchased!

However, that does not apply to the colors or inked. The nipple guards will only be available in the skin tones.

And did you know we offer two different sizes of nipple guards?

And that a 10 pack of both comes in every pack?

And that you can order them separately to stock up?

Well, you sure know now.

And now that you know some of the cool new things going on at TransTape, you can plan your next bulk order to celebrate.

Bulk order joke aside, a new tone is definitely something to get excited about.

Why?

Even if this skin tone isn't for you, it's something to get excited about because it means there are more people who get to feel seen.

Unfortunately, not everyone feels seen or has someone to look to for representation.

But gestures like TransTape taking an entire year to create a specific skin tone make it possible for more people to feel seen and experience gender euphoria.

Representation matters and makes a world of a difference.

What a beautiful and powerful thing, right?

So in order to celebrate, I suggest a hefty serving of self-care.

And a beverage of your choice, perhaps tea?

Human beings are wonderfully complex and we all deserve to feel seen.

We all deserve to express ourselves.

We all deserve to know what gender euphoria feels like.

We all deserve to live.

Until next time,

Stay awesome.

Stay beautiful.

Stay you.

You are loved and it gets better.

Talk to you soon,

Jamie
