Regardless of how you spent the holidays, they can be draining and it's important to give yourself time to process and recharge. Self-care is important and should never be put on the back-burner. And while practicing self-care, don't forget your proper TransTape aftercare!
Hey, friends!
Phew, the last couple days of the year, can you believe it?
I sure can, 2024 has been insane!
Today, we're going to talk about some holiday aftercare.
And TransTape aftercare!
What I mean by holiday aftercare is the process of recharging after a very stressful time of the year.
Between holiday shopping, working retail, spending time with family, missing loved ones, something else, or all of the above, it can be a lot to handle.
So we're going to talk about it!
Along with how you can incorporate some TransTape aftercare this post-holiday season.
Holiday
If you're someone who celebrated a holiday this season, I hope it was the most enchanting experience.
If you don't celebrate anything, I still hope this season has been everything you dreamed of.
As we're entering 2025, we're likely to find ourselves reminiscing about the last 12 months.
All the good times, the not-so-good times, and the changes that came along with both of those things.
It can be a lot, and there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that.
That's why it's important that we take the time, or make the time, to take care of ourselves.
We're all a little different when it comes to recharging after a stressful time of the year, but I do have some suggestions.
Taking a nap, cooking your favorite food, having a toke, burning a candle, reading a book, a hot bubble bath, taking a walk, lifting some weights, crocheting a scarf, playing some music.
If none of those tickle your fancy, that's cool, but make sure you actually follow through and do it!
Why is it important?
It's important because it's easy to forget about ourselves while taking care of the people we care about, and that takes a toll on us.
We might fall behind on skin care, slack on exercise, go a little overboard on doom-scrolling, it happens to the best of us, really!
And when we fall behind on making time for ourselves to feel our best, we end up feeling a little drained.
So, we gotta get a refill.
Taking the time to do the things we love isn't just good for our mental health either, it's good for the soul!
Personally, I work retail and don't have a ton of downtime, so my soul is definitely ready for some post-holiday self-care.
And taking the time to walk my dog or cook a favorite meal is exactly what it's ready for.
So if you find yourself feeling a little down, especially with it getting dark outside so much earlier now too, treat yourself to something that might bring a smile to your face!
As we approach 2025, let's all take the time to recharge, smile, and enjoy our own company.
TransTape
I didn't forget about TransTape either.
With all this talk about self-care and aftercare, we can't just skip over TransTape aftercare.
With the year quickly coming to an end, we may be running around with our tape peeling at the corners and hanging on for dear life.
Kinda like myself.
Which means, we're also probably wearing it for 5 or more days at a time.
Now I'm not going to scold you for wearing it for more than 5 days, but I will if you don't give your skin the appropriate break.
After removing TransTape, with oil of course, it's important to give your skin 1-3 days of rest in between.
The amount of time depends on your skin sensitivity, but it's important to remember that your skin may also need more than that.
You need to give your skin some breathing time because after the use of TransTape and its adhesive, your skin can become dehydrated.
And it needs to be hydrated.
Hydrated skin means better skin elasticity, which means more TransTape.
But How?
Well, first, thanks for asking.
First, we have TransTape Removal Oil.
TransTape Removal Oil is made from pure jojoba oil and it's just as good at keeping your skin hydrated as it is removing your tape.
While removing your tape with jojoba oil, you're also hydrating it!
It naturally absorbs into your skin while it breaks down the adhesive and starts the healing process right away.
After removing your tape, I would take a little extra oil and rub it into your skin for good measure!
If you don't use the official removal oil, that's still okay.
You don't have to use jojoba oil on your skin, although I'd argue it's the best oil to use, you can use any oil that is safe to cook with.
Coconut oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil.
Any of those oils are acceptable and capable of removing your TransTape.
However, jojoba has unique healing properties that allow it to absorb into our skin and rebuild our skins elasticity.
Aside from oil, you should also consider using the TransTape Repairing Salve!
The repairing salve should be applied directly to the skin after removing your TransTape.
Unless you have any open wounds, do not apply repairing salve to open cuts or wounds.
TransTape Repairing Salve is an all natural product that helps heal and rehydrate your skin.
Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Cedarwood Oil, Monarda Oil, Frankincense Oil.
During your TransTape off-days, you can apply the salve to your application site throughout the day.
Before reapplying, I always recommend cleaning the area with alcohol to clean off oils or any leftover salve.
Applying throughout the day helps the skin recover quicker and more efficiently without a lot of extra effort.
You can also apply it to the nipple guards before taping up to help with dryness or itchiness!
It re-hydrates your skin while simultaneously rebuilding its elasticity, kinda like jojoba oil.
And when used in combination with jojoba oil, this stuff is really helpful!
I use both on my off days and I know my skin appreciates me for it.
Don't just listen to me though, try it for yourself and see if you notice the difference!
Aftercare
Whether it's for TransTape or for yourself, aftercare is extremely important.
It's one of those things that you can't really skip out on.
So as we're all winding down this season, I think it's the perfect opportunity to focus on the important things like taking care of ourselves.
Make sure you're giving yourself just as much attention as you gave to your loved ones throughout the year.
Practice prioritizing yourself and dabble in some of your favorite hobbies and routines.
Maybe even try the new skin care routine you've been looking into and maybe purchase some jojoba oil like that guy who writes the TransTape blogs always tells you to do.
Whatever it is that makes you smile and feel good, do it.
You deserve it.
Remember, you're important too.
So.
Cheers to a happy, and healthy new year!
Find your freedom.
Until next time,
Stay awesome,
Stay beautiful,
Stay you.
You are loved and it gets better.
Talk to you soon,

I started my transition in May of 2017 and since then, I've made it my mission to live unapologetically as myself and spread awareness through my pursuit of happiness. I am the creator and writer of Spilling T blog, a proud affiliate of TransTape and when I'm not outside with the best dog ever or hanging out with my two cats, I make and sell my own beard care products through Buckaroo's Beard Care. I'm always looking for my next adventure and have been skydiving, road-tripping, hiking in the mountains and even served for a short time in the United States Marine Corps. My life has had its fair share of twists and turns and I hope to use those experiences to create helpful and relatable content that may help someone else navigate a difficult time in life.
