Tried and true, you are always you.
Living authentically can come at a price.
But no matter how grand the total due,
You have never thought twice.
More often than not,
You may run yourself down.
At home, at work, at school
Even when there’s no one around.
But wake with ease, smell the flowers and let yourself refuel.
Please take these steps,
Life doesn’t always have to be so cruel.
Through hard work and discipline,
You’ve accomplished so much.
You’ve sharpened your mind, softened your heart,
Learned maybe it’s not so bad,
To get a fresh start.
Keep listening to yourself,
Unless it’s those fears or those doubts,
You’re actually quite smart,
And can always find another route.
Let go of the lock,
And that old key to your chest.
Maybe even take a little walk,
Or enjoy a little rest.
Please know in good time,

Even the hard things can be done with a view.

My name is Jamie and I'm a young (ish) transman born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York state. I started my transition in May of 2017 and since then, I've made it my mission to live unapologetically as myself and spread awareness through my pursuit of happiness. I am the creator and writer of Spilling T blog, a proud affiliate of TransTape and when I'm not outside with the best dog ever or hanging out with my two cats, I make and sell my own beard care products through Buckaroo's Beard Care. I'm always looking for my next adventure and have been skydiving, road-tripping, hiking in the mountains and even served for a short time in the United States Marine Corps.
